Local government
Tamalpais Valley is an unincorporated
community of approximately 2,800 households, plus small businesses located in
southern Marin County between the cities of Mill Valley and Sausalito. Although
we are unincorporated, Tam Valley has a local government -- the
Tamalpais Community Services District (TCSD) with elected officials who
represent us on Tam Valley issues.

TCSD is a governmental agency governed by a board of directors who are elected
by residents of Tam Valley. The current TCSD board members are:

TCSD also has a General Manager ( Jon Elam ) and full-time staff, as well as a Parks and
Recreation Director ( Carol Buchholz ).
The TCSD Board meets at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Tam Valley Community Center.
Tamalpais Design Review Board
The Tam Design Review
Board is an advisory body to the Marin County Planning Department for all
zoning items requiring Design Review. It is comprised of persons residing in
the Tam area and includes design professionals and others who have been
appointed by the County Board of Supervisors to assist the Planning Department
in enforcing quality design and the Guidelines prescribed for this area.
Jurisdiction includes all unincorporated areas south and west of Mill Valley.
The Tam Design Review
Board meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Rec
Cabin, 60 Tennessee Valley Road.

of Mill Valley.) The nearest post office is at 751 East Blithdale in Mill
Valley. Letters and packages sent from the post office
will go out up until closing time.
The last pick-up from street collection boxes is at 3PM. Mailboxes are located on Flamingo across from
Bell Market. Bell Market sells postage stamps at the checkout
counters.
